NVSU has taken part in the second kick-off meeting of the Nordic project

The meeting was attended by the representatives of JAMK University of Applied Sciences (Jyvaskyla, Finland), University College South Denmark (Haderslev, Denmark), Saint Petersburg State Institute of Psychology and Social Work. NVSU was represented by Galina Artemieva, Associate Professor at the Department of General and Social Pedagogy, and Nadezhda Nemchinova, Head of International Office.

     

The main objective of the project is to develop an e-course for master’s and postgraduate students in the field of Social Integration of Migrant and Minority Children.

Within the course of the meeting the participants visited several specialized nursery schools for migrant children and learnt about the principal working methods used to ensure social and cultural adjustment of migrant children in Denmark.

         

The schedule of the meeting included the presentations of preschool education system in Finland made by the master’s students of JAMK University of Applied Sciences. Galina Artemieva, Associate Professor at the NVSU Department of General and Social Pedagogy, presented the results of the social project “Our Big World” realized by the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology. The project is aimed at social adjustment of migrant preschool and primary school children within the multicultural educational context.

On May 1, 2014 at a special ceremony University College South Denmark and Nizhnevartovsk State University signed a Memorandum of Understanding and a Supplementary Agreement on the student exchange. The parties confirmed their intentions to implement the agreements and discussed the student exchange implementation plan. The parties also agreed on a return visit of University College South Denmark to Nizhnevartovsk State University which will take place in November 2014.

           

The final coordination meeting on the results of the project of Social Integration of Minority and Migrant Children will be held in Saint Petersburg State Institute of Psychology and Social Work in May 2015.
