240 credit points, including all classroom and independent student work, time for working on term and diploma papers, time for practical training, on-the-job training and pre-degree practice, and time for checking student progress

Eligibility requirements

  • State certificate of secondary (complete) general education or state certificate of secondary vocational education

Applicants for the program 031300 Journalism are subjected to a supplementary examination in the form of essay aimed at determining creative skills of future students. Applicants must show their ability to freely express their thoughts on a given topic using language expressive means, logic in developing the composition of the text, knowledge of actual problems of modern society, common cultural knowledge, erudition, communicative skills, understanding of journalistic ethics, ability to improvise.

  • Art work - creating materials for different types and kinds of media
  • Editorial activities – correcting and bringing the materials to be placed in newspapers, magazines, newslines, on television, radio, and online in accordance with language rules, professional standards, formats, styles, and technical standards adopted in different media
  • Design and analysis – participating in development and correction of media concept, determining media format, programming, planning and analyzing editorial activity, developing original projects, planning own work
  • Organizational activities and management – taking part in organizing work of the media, its divisions and creative teams
  • Social and organizational work – engaging people from various segments of society, organizations and institutions in working with the media
  • Industrial and technical activities - participating in the production of printed publications, television and radio products, online media based on modern technologies

Specific professional activities are determined by the higher educational institution in cooperation with students, research and teaching staff and employers' associations.
