Regional dissemination activities within Jean Monnet Module

On October 24th, 2017 professors from Nizhnevartovsk State University in cooperation with Omsk State University held a roundtable discussion titled “Participation in European Union program “Jean Monnet”: application preparation, implementation of teaching and research activities”.

There were 16 participants from five higher educational institutions. Keynote speakers of the roundtable discussion were Alexey Sorokin, Head of the Department for Planning and International Activities at Omsk State University, coordinator of Jean Monnet Module “Germany in EU: A story of mutual success” and Oksana Kozlova, Doctor of Economics, professor at the Department for Commerce and Management, coordinator of Jean Monnet Module “Developing Green Skills for Entrepreneurship and Business Based on the EU Experience” and academic coordinator of module “Standardization in Product Quality Management: EU Experience and Cooperation Prospects”.

All the questions under discussion were important both for those planning to apply for Jean Monnet grant and those already implementing activities within the program. The experience that module coordinators shared with the audience proved to be valuable and helpful. Such issues as possible cooperation initiatives, especially regarding dissemination activities, were also discussed. It was noted that International Offices across universities provide valuable support in application and implementation process.

We are hoping that this event will serve as a starting point for future cooperation and will help NVSU expand opportunities for both academic and international growth.

It is important to note that Jean Monnet program aims at promoting excellence in teaching and research in the field of European Union studies such as regional studies, historical studies, economic and law studies.
