Lala Yakubova, the Head of the Department for Document Studies and General History and module coordinator, traveled to University of Barcelona (Spain) February 20-25 for a study visit as a part of the Module implementation process. The Module is titled “The European Union Social Policy” and is devoted to the study of historical and current European social policy issues.

Ms. Yakubova was introduced to the University of Barcelona and learned about the structure, work, specifics of educational process and teaching with the help of Marc Ruiz-Zorilla, professor of University of Barcelona and international project coordinator. During the visit, Lala Yakubova also consulted with professors of the Faculty of History of UB and studied materials of courses on history of social processes in the EU, history of Europe taught at the University.

The visit allowed prof. Yakubova to use research and library facilities of UB in order to fulfill such important objectives of the course as syllabus development for the training course “The European Union Social Policy” and theoretical research for future monograph “Social Policy of the European Union: Past and Present”.
