The Peoples of the North Ethnophilology

The staff of the research laboratory of the peoples of the North ethnophilology explores topics related to the issues of preserving the Surgut dialect of the Khanty language and literature of the indigenous peoples of Yugra. The scientists of the laboratory cooperate with the Assembly of Representatives of the Indigenous Peoples of the North, with ethnic educational institutions. Defining the topics of their work, the researchers are guided by the state and regional policy of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – Yugra.

Research topic: Khanty-mansi philology and applied didactics.

Research purpose: preservation of the Surgut dialect of the Khanty-mansi language and literature of the indigenous peoples of the North.

Research problems:

• substantiation of the research and theoretical foundations of the study of the Khant-mansi language (Surgut dialect) and the literature of the indigenous peoples of the North;
• design of methodological materials and publications for the study of the Khanty-mansi language (Surgut dialect) and literature of the indigenous peoples of the North;
• organizing, conducting and participating in events related to the popularization, preservation and study of the Khanty-mansi language (Surgut dialect) and literature of the indigenous peoples of the North.

The results of the laboratory's activities are focused on various types of ethnic educational and cultural institutions in the region broadcasting the Surgut dialect of the Khanty-mansi language.
