Indian students have begun their studies at NVSU, combining intensive Russian language training with practical classes and introductory events that help them become familiar with the university and the region.
At the initial stage of the program, the students are learning Russian phonetics and the alphabet under the guidance of Anna Bel'kova, Associate Professor of the Department of Philology, Language Education and Translation. The educational process is conducted entirely in Russian, which allows the students to gradually adapt to the language environment and improve their listening comprehension from the very beginning of their studies.
In addition to academic classes, the students take part in interactive activities designed to support their language practice. At the university's "Lingua Lab" club, they communicate with student activists and practice conversational Russian in an informal setting. These meetings help them expand their vocabulary, develop speaking skills, and gain confidence in everyday communication.
Reference: Twenty-five students from India are enrolled in a one-year intensive Russian language course as part of the Russian as a Foreign Language program. During the preparatory training, they will become acquainted with the history, culture, and traditions of Russia and the Yugra region. After completing the preparatory department, the students will continue their education in bachelor's degree programs at NVSU.
The students have already moved into the university dormitory and taken an introductory tour of Nizhnevartovsk. For many of them, this is their first experience of visiting Russia, and they have expressed a keen interest in Russian culture. The international students note that they associate their future with Russia, where they hope to live and work.
