Nizhnevartovsk State University has become a new member of the University of the Arctic (UArctic)
On June 13, 2015, Nizhnevartovsk State University was officially admitted as a member of the University of the Arctic (UArctic). The 18th meeting of the Council of UArctic was held June 14-17, 2015 at the Buryat State University in Ulan Ude within the joint education and research conference “Arctic Dialogue in the Global World”. During the meeting, the Council held an open voting on including additional institutions and organizations as Council members. As a result, NVSU became a new UArctic member.

NVSU students received Erasmus + scholarships to study at the University college of South Denmark
NVSU 3rd year students of the Faculty of Humanities, Regina Sagdatdinova and Anna Nikitina, have successfully passed the university selection and won the competition to study at the University College of South Denmark- UCSYD for the period of August-December 2015. The students will be enrolled for the course of Crossing Borders: Cultural Diversity in Early Years Education.

Visit to the Technical University of Berlin
On May 17-20, 2015, Nadezhda Nemchinova, Head of NVSU International Office, higher education reform expert, took part in a study visit to the Technical University of Berlin (Germany). The study visit was organized by the University of Barcelona (UdB) and European University Association (EUA), which are part of the European Commission project consortium SPHERE (Support and Promotion for Higher Education Reform Experts).

Benchmarking Visit II to JAMK University of Applied Sciences
On May 18-23, Gennady Malgin, Head of the Department of Energy Engineering, and Oksana Yakovishak, Leading Specialist and Project Manager of NVSU International Office, took part in the second benchmarking visit within the TEMPUS project E3M “Evaluation of Quality of Cooperation in Education Ecosystem as a Mechanism for Building Professional Competencies". The visit was devoted to studying the best EU practices in terms of development of cooperation between academic world and world of work. JAMK University of Applied Sciences, Jyväskylä (Finland) hosted the event and welcomed representatives from Russian partner-universities. JAMK had prepared an interesting program of the visit, based on the wishes and recommendations of Russian colleagues.

Nizhnevartovsk State University and University of Barcelona signed a cooperation agreement
On May 4, 2015, Nizhnevartovsk State University and the University of Barcelona signed a cooperation agreement. Under the agreement, the parties consolidated their intention to develop mutual cooperation through joint activities and international projects. The parties paid special attention to the development of academic mobility of students, graduate students and teaching staff of two universities.

Professor Marc Ruiz-Zorrilla visited NVSU
On May 13-15, 2015, Professor Marс Ruiz-Zorrilla, Coordinator of international programs of the University of Barcelona, visited Nizhnevartovsk State University. During his visit, Marc Ruiz-Zorrilla took part in “Study in Spain” workshop held within a series of seminars devoted to studying in Europe. Here Professor Ruiz-Zorrilla introduced NVSU students and teachers to the academic mobility programs offered by the University of Barcelona, in particular, to the International Summer School at UdB.

“Study in Spain” Workshop in NVSU
On May 14, within a series of seminars devoted to studying in Europe NVSU held an introductory “Study in Spain” workshop involving the University of Barcelona. The workshop opened with a welcome speech by Denis Pogonyshev, Vice-Rector for Licensing and Accreditation, emphasizing the development of academic mobility as a priority trend in the international activities of NVSU and one of the most effective ways of improving the quality of education.

NVSU participated in the Final Intensive Seminar of the project “Social Integration of Minority and Migrant Children” within Nordic-Russian Cooperation Program (March 16-20, St. Petersburg)
The event was attended by the representatives of JAMK University of Applied Sciences (Jyvaskyla, Finland), University College of Southern Denmark (Haderslev, Denmark), St. Petersburg State Institute of Psychology and Social Work, and Nizhnevartovsk State University. NVSU was presented by Irina Istomina, the Dean of the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology, and Oksana Yakovishak, the leading specialist of the International Office.

NVSU has taken part in the International Conference
On March 10-11, Istanbul University (Istanbul, Turkey) held a conference on “Vocational and Higher Education”, organized by the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA). he event was attended by nearly 160 people, including Higher Education Reform Experts (HEREs) from EU neighboring countries, European experts on education, coordinators of national Erasmus+ offices

2nd year students from the Faculty of Information Technologies and Mathematics have returned from their visit to Finland
2nd year students from the Department of Computer Science and Methods of Teaching Computer Studies, NVSU Faculty of Information Technologies and Mathematics, have shared their impressions of their exchange visit to JAMK University of Applied Sciences in Finland.
