Nizhnevartovsk State University has received grant support from Russkiy Mir Foundation for the International Project "Bridge of Cultures: Promotion of the Russian Language and Northern Traditions in Chinese Universities". The initiative is aimed at strengthening long-term cooperation with universities in China through the promotion of the Russian language and culture, as well as the cultural heritage of the peoples of the Russian North.
The project is scheduled to begin in autumn 2026 and will be implemented in both online and in-person formats. A total of 200 students from four NVSU partner universities in China will take part in the program:
- Shandong Technology and Business University (Yantai, Shandong Province)
- Ludong University (Yantai, Shandong Province)
- Guizhou University of Finance and Economics (Guiyang, Guizhou Province)
- Huanggang Vocational and Technical University (Huanggang, Hubei Province)
As part of the project, Chinese students will attend lectures on the Russian language, culture, and the history of Russia and the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Area-Yugra. The program will also include creative workshops on painting and the making of traditional folk dolls, as well as quizzes and other educational events.
At the conclusion of the project, NVSU will hold a roundtable discussion with partner universities in China to consider further prospects for the development of cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
