Yugra International 2023 is a three-day forum for Russian and foreign students, studying in Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Area. The forum was held from October, 23 to October, 26 and was funded byThe Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodyozh).
150 students took part in Yugra International 2023 forum and participated in 3 organized interactive sessions, devoted to intercultural communication in education, media and art, and sports. They all came together to build and strengthen cooperation between the younger generation of Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Area, Central Asian countries, Zambia, India, and Ghana.
To share their knowledge and experience and help students to collaborate, key experts were invited to the forum. The experts were Issa Shaabo (Head of Association of International students), Alexander Seryakov and Maher Alchaar (Representatives of University of Tyumen), Anna Protopopova (Head of NVSU Psychological Service), Tatyana Markina (VKontakte Representative from Nizhny Novgorod), Daria Saprynskaya (Lomonosov Moscow State University, Moscow) and others. With their help, students improved their leadership and team building skills.
As soon as the foreign students arrived, it was arranged a guided bus excursion around the city to get to know a new city and its sightseeing. Team of volunteers also helped participants to organize group work and to get to know each other better.
Day 1 - Networking session: all the participants got acquainted with each other. Key experts taught the students how to build a team, develop leadership and cope with stress.
Day 2 - Intercultural communication session: international students got acquainted with their studying opportunities in Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Area and the importance of cross-cultural communication in education. They learned cross-cultural integration through the intellectual online and offline volunteering. Students came to an understanding of features of intercultural communication in Asian, Arabic, and African countries. NVSU students, currently studying in China, told about their exchange experience at a partner university Shandong Technology and Business University.
Day 3 - Media and Art session: participants together with the experts explored promotion tools and ways to create catching content. Students made a video of their vision of university of the future.
At the end of each forum day, participants took part in Sports sessions, where they could try a phygital sports in VR and other physical activities.
At the closing ceremony, students presented their projects, got expert feedbacks and enjoyed NVSU student clubs' performances.
