NVSU continues to implement Jean Monnet Module “The European Union Social Policy”, № 574865-EPP-1-2016-1-RU-EPPJMO-MODULE within Erasmus+ Programe supported by the European Commission.
During the Week of Science in NVSU, Lala Yakubova, the Head of Department for Document Science and General History and Module Academic Coordinator, delivered an open lecture on the Social Profile of Migrants in the European Union.
Today, migration is among top agenda issues not only in Europe, but also worldwide, therefore, the lecture aroused much interest among the listeners.
Due to mass migration to EU countries in 2015-2017, social and cultural integration of migrants is a key challenge involving many aspects, including employment of young, senior and low-qualified legal migrants.
The lecture addressed reasons and peculiarities of migration, major principles of the EU migration policy, and social profile of migrants in the EU countries, namely, their level of education, income, gender and age, employment specifics in various EU countries, as well as prospects for cultural integration.
The event was attended by NVSU bachelor, master and postgraduate students and members of the teaching staff.
The project “The European Union Social Policy”, 574865-EPP-1-2016-1-RU-EPPJMO-MODULE, is co-financed by European Comission within the framework of Jean Monnet Actions.
