
On October 17-19, Fachhochschule des Mittelstands (FHM) (Berlin, Germany) hosted Workshop on "The EU spin-off best practices" within the Program Erasmus+ project "UNISON University-enterprise cooperation via spin-off companies network". The workshop was designed to introduce project partners from Russia, China and Georgia to the EU perspectives on university spin-offs, promotion of technology transfer and R&D commercialization.
Nizhnevartovsk State University was represented by Anatolii Klochkov, First Vicerector, Maksim Sliva, Assistant Professor at the Department for Computer Science and Methods of Teaching Computer Science and Yana Kraychinskaya, Project Coordinator.
The organizators presented Fachhochschule des Mittelstands, its values and directions, historical background, spin-off company models in Germany and available state support. The presentations and reports covered the following topics:
The workshop also included visits to Berlin Startup Incubator, located on the premises of one of the largest technology companies in Germany, SIEMENS. The Incubator opened in 2005 and over 90 startups has already gone through it, many of them has established their own companies.
Moreover, representatives of partner universities visited Technology park in Adlershof. The Technology Park is one of the biggest parks in Germany and Europe. There are 1041 companies functioning on the premises of the park and 17000 employees. There are both non-academic research centres and majorresearch institutions.
