The Fourth German-Russian Week for the Young Researcher “Global History. German-Russian Perspective on Regional Studies” was held in St. Petersburg State University on 6-10 October, 2014. The event attracted more than 50 participants including graduate students, candidates and doctors of sciences, professors from Russia and Germany who presented their historical projects and research works.
The Week was organized by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the German Research Foundation (DFG) under the auspices of the German House of Science and Innovation (DWIH).

The purpose of the event was in establishing relations and building up the cooperation between young researchers in Germany and Russia. The plenary sessions, master classes, lectures and research debates were held in English.
Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District Ugra and Nizhnevartovsk State University were represented by Lala Yakubova, the Head of the Department of Record Management and World History, Associate Professor, Candidate of Historical Sciences, who read a lecture “Great Britain social policy after World War II: models, priority areas, technologies” and paid special attention to the study of models, priorities, and technologies of the social policy implemented by the British Labour Party and the Conservatives.
