Nizhnevartovsk State University has signed a cooperation agreement with Liepaja University (Latvia)
On June 14, 2016, Nizhnevartovsk State University signed a cooperation agreement with Liepaja University (Latvia). The parties consolidated their intention to develop cooperation through joint activities and international projects. Special attention is to be given to student and teacher mobility between the universities. In particular, the parties plan to jointly apply for Erasmus + program (Key Action 1: Learning Mobility of Individuals).

First exchange students from University College of South Denmark
NVSU and University College of South Denmark have a long-standing partnership that allows both sides to have exchange programs for both students and faculty. As a part of academic mobility programs such as Denmark national study grant and Erasmus+ scholarship program, 8 NVSU students have participated in the exchange program at the University College of South Denmark since 2014.
Karen Rosenberg Hansen and Christina Hansen, 2nd year students of the University College of South Denmark became the first exchange students from at NVSU. The students did their practical training at the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology in NVSU from March till May, 2016.
Karen and Christina were awarded Erasmus+ scholarship, one of the most prestigious European student grants. The scholarship covers all costs associated with the stay and study at a foreign university (travel costs, accommodation costs, visa, etc).

NVSU student received Erasmus + scholarship
Anna Bukreeva, NVSU 3rd year student of the Faculty of Humanities, have successfully passed the competitive selection procedure to study the course "Crossing Borders: Cultural Diversity in Early Years Education" at the University College of South Denmark- UCSYD from August to December 2016.
In the context of cooperation between NVSU and UCSYD, the universities submitted a joint application for funding of academic mobility within the European Commission Erasmus + (Key action 1: Credit mobility). Following the competition, the University College of South Denmark received a quota for 2 Russian students to study at UCSYD with a financial support of European Commission program Erasmus+.

NVSU teachers took research training at the University of Barcelona within the ERANET-PLUS program
Irina Ziyazova, Senior Lecturer at the Department for Linguistics and Translation Studies, and Tatyana Storchak, Assistant Professor at the Department of Ecology took training at the University of Barcelona in frame of the ERANET Plus program from December 2015 to June 2016. In 2015 Irina Ziyazova and Tatiana Storchak were awarded PhD and post PhD grants for carrying out research in Linguistics and Biology.
The objective of Eranet Plus program is to create lasting associations between Russian HEIs and the European HEIs, providing each institution the experience of the European model and guidance on how to develop new standards as well as to construct a stable mobility between Europe and Russia and to develop a solid framework for future collaborations.

NVSU teacher participates in Fullbright Foreign Student Program
Yana Kraichinskaya, Lecturer of the Department for Linguistics and Translation Studies, studied for a Master’s degree at SIT Graduate Institute through a Fulbright Foreign Student Program grant for students and graduates. The program lasted 2 years, from August 2014 to May 2016. The program is designed to enable scholars to better experience America and to further the Fulbright Program’s goal of increasing mutual understanding between the people of the U.S. and people of other countries.

Arrangements and activities
The Institute of International Education organized orientations for over 100 students and graduates in various cities of USA. Yana’s orientation was held in Washington and lasted one week.

NVSU student has returned from the University College South Denmark
3rd year NVSU student Elena Fomenko, studying at the Faculty of Humanities, won the university competition to study at the University College of Southern Denmark - UCSYD in Aabenraa. Elena spent 5 months (February - June 2016) studying the college program of Crossing Borders: Cultural Diversity in Early Years Education.
The student was awarded Erasmus+ scholarship, which is the most prestigious European student grant. It covers all costs of stay and study at a EU university (cost of travel, accommodation, visa costs and insurance).
Elena’s biggest dream was to study abroad and get to know how people from all over the world live. Thanks to NVSU international seminars, she learnt about mobility programs offered by the University College South Denmark and seized the opportunity to participate in the Erasmus+ program.

NVSU is awarded Erasmus + mobility grants
Based on the results of the 2nd call for applications within Erasmus + Key action 1: "Learning Mobility for Individuals". Starting from 2017, NVSU students and teaching staff members will be able to take training at two partner institutions which submitted applications jointly with NVSU. Erasmus + provides new opportunities for student, postgraduates, teachers and administrative staff mobility within the framework of Key action 1. The academic mobility has a positive effect on later job prospects and constitutes an incentive for comparison and updating study programs, improving teaching standards and strengthening international and student services both for students/staff and universities.

NVSU held an international seminar “Building capacities of international units and departments”
On May 16-19, 2016, NVSU held the international seminar “Building capacities of international units and departments” within the project “Bridging the cooperation gap: Nordic-Russian Network for International Relations in Higher Education”. The seminar was attended by the members of JAMK University of Applied Sciences (Jyvӓskylӓ, Finland), University College of South Denmark (Haderslev, Denmark), Yugra State University (Khanty–Mansiysk, Russia) as well as NVSU International Office staff members, teachers and students.

UC SYD representatives visited NVSU within the Erasmus+ staff mobility program
On May 17 – 19, 2016, Mette Ernlund, Head of International department, and Martin Brunsgaard, International coordinator of the department for Social Education from the University College South Denmark, paid a working visit to the Nizhnevartovsk State University within the Erasmus + staff mobility program between the Nizhnevartovsk State University and the University College of South Denmark.
During their visit the Mette Ernlund and Martin Brunsgaard joined the meeting with the NVSU representatives of the Faculty of pedagogy and psychology which was devoted to the discussions on structures of practical training for preschool education and psychology of education and perspectives for cooperation between NVSU and UCSYD in the field of research.
