On October 10-12, NVSU member Olga Shakhova, Associate Professor, Department for Humanities, Social Studies and Tourism, took part in the Accessibility Forum, organized by the China Disabled Persons’ Federation and Tsinghua University in Beijing (China). The event attracted the representatives and speakers of the United Nations, UNESCO, the World Tourism Organization, the China Disabled Persons' Federation, and higher education institutions of China.

A part of China's Belt and Road Initiative, the forum for the benefit of people with disabilities was devoted to the topic “Creating an accessible recreational environment for all” and aimed at developing solutions to accessible renovation of World Heritage Sites and promoting an action plan for improving the quality of the environmental accessibility at the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in Beijing. In addition, participants shared their experience in organizing accessible tourism.

Olga Shakhova gave a presentation on “Tourist and recreational development of territory for organization of accessible tourism: RU experience”.
