On June 3-5, 2019, Svetlana Kravchenko, Head of the Department for Architecture, Design and Decorative Arts, and Victoria Kondratyeva, Academic Mobility Coordinator of the International Office, took part in the international Arctic Arts Summit 2019. Organized by the international associa
tion Universities of the Arctic, the event was held at the University of Lapland in Rovaniemi (Finland).
The summit has attracted more than 400 teachers, researchers, artists, designers from Russia, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Canada, Great Britain, Greenland, the USA, Iceland, Denmark, etc.
During the first day of the summit, NVSU members joined the members of The Arctic Network of Sustainable Art and Design for the session, where they presented Nizhnevartovsk State University and its Department for Architecture, Design and Decorative Arts. NVSU has been the network member since March 2019.

The second day of the summit was dedicated to the role of culture and art in the Arctic. Members of the Arctic ministries and other key speakers shared their views on the development of Arctic art and culture.
The summit participants discussed the following issues during the sessions:
- art in the Arctic and the Arctic expressed in art;
- cultural cooperation in the Arctic region, research and education in the Arctic culture and art;
- sustainable development through art and culture in the Arctic region.
On the final day of the summit, Svetlana Kravchenko and Victoria Kondratyeva joined the thematic session on the Art of Indigenous Peoples: Learning and Best Practices. At the session, they presented the art works by NVSU teachers and students, based on the research and traditional art of the Khanty and Mansi peoples.


19 November All-Russian forum "Yugra International 2024" was held at Nizhnevartovsk State University. The event brought together 100 students, including 70 international students who are currently studying at Russian universities. |
