Within the second call for proposals of the Erasmus+ program Nizhnevartovsk State University submitted 4 applications for Jean Monnet Activities. As a result, 3 applications were approved for funding by the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency of the European Commission. Jean Monnet Module “The European Union Social Policy” (574865-EPP-1-2016-1-RU-EPPJMO-MODULE) submitted by the Department for Document Sciences and General History and coordinated by Lala Yakubova is one of the applications selected for funding in 2016.

On February 13, 2017 the Document Sciences and General History officially introduced the Module “The European Union Social Policy”. Lala Yakubova, the Head of the Department and project academic coordinator, gave a presentation on the main goals, objectives and outcomes of the project. The project aims at increasing interest in understanding social policy of the EU and boosting level of knowledge on the European social issues among bachelor and master students of the department, staff and general public.

The implementation of the Module will help to develop a methodology and tools for historical and political analysis, conduct historical and political analysis on the EU social policy, prepare teaching materials and a training course for university students on EU social policy, and to organize workshops and a conference on the subject. It is planned to involve as many interested parties as possible and work towards disseminating the knowledge of EU social policies among wider public.
