On 20 February 2013,Nizhnevartovsk State University became a member of the Bologna Club! The Russian Bologna Club was founded in association with the National TEMPUS office in Russia, based in Don State Technical University (Rostov-on-Don). Its purpose is to support international initiatives aimed at fostering cooperation and interaction between universities. The Bologna Club also aims to promote the Bologna Process for the modern-day university, and to take constructive steps towards Russia’s entry into the European educational community.

Today, the Bologna Club is an open community of Russian universities with the shared goal of reforming higher education in Russia, seeking a rapprochement between varying national systems and creating a united educational framework. It is the Bologna Club’s aim that such a framework would adhere to practices common to Europe as a whole for the development of a society based on knowledge.

Through constructive interaction between members and partners, the Bologna Club aims to improve the quality and competitiveness of Russian higher education across the world, to support international cooperation and academic mobility (the opportunity for students to study at another European university), and to resolve pressing concerns such as the recognition of Russian diplomas abroad.
