MODULE TITLE: “Environment, Health and Climate change: Facing the challenges and Adapting to Impacts: Experience of the European Union”

MAIN OBJECTIVE:

improve the quality of vocational training in the study subjects related to the European Union and raise awareness of target groups about the European Union's activities in the field of climate change adaptation and successful preventive practices

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:

  • Introduce the course “Environment, Health and Climate change: Facing the challenges and Adapting to Impacts: Experience of the European Union” studying research works and measures implemented in the European Union concerning the prevention and reduction of the adverse effects of climate change;
  • Teach future professionals in the field of biology, ecology and environmental management interested in implementing the necessary transformations with an account for the EU experience of sustainable development and preservation of ecological balance;
  • Disseminate the European experience and knowledge on the effects of climate change on the environment and public health; raise awareness about the European Union among bachelors, undergraduates and other target groups;
  • Introduce innovative technologies of teaching and learning based on EU the experience (development of multidisciplinary research; interactive learning; project activities; learning based on competences; strengthen the cooperation between the academic and business communities;
  • Inform students and specialists in the field of health, ecology and environmental management about the successful EU practices in the field of preventing and reducing the adverse effects of climate change and measures to adapt to adverse effects.

Graduate of Tyumen State University, with a degree in biology. Candidate of Biological Sciences (Ph.D.), Associate Professor for Human and Animal Anatomy and Physiology, Assistant Professor at the Department of Ecology of Nizhnevartovsk State University. Author and co-author of more than 60 scientific works, including a monograph and an educational book. Lecturer and researcher in the fields of human ecology, human adaptation, correlation between the state of environment and public health. Participant of regional and international conferences and workshops on issues of environment and public health. Academic advisor of students’ research activities on Human and Animal Anatomy and Physiology. Regularly takes advanced courses and joins training workshops on Erasmus+ (Capacity building, Credit Mobility and Jean Monnet), Project Support, Cooperation, Academic Mobility in Education, Training, Sport and Youth Policy.

Author and coauthor of 57 scientific works. Lecturer and researcher in the fields of human ecology and human biology. Participant of regional and international conferences and workshops on issues of environment and public health. Head of the project team  in the ongoing TEMPUS IV project E3M - "Evaluation of Quality of Cooperation in Education Ecosystem as a Mechanism for Building Professional Competencies". Responsible for accreditation activities in the area of study programmes and study fields. Has an overall responsibility for managing NVSU academic process, innovative initiatives, international policy. Dedicated to support the goals for NVSU sustainable development. Involved in strategic planning in all academic and international aspects.

Candidate of Geographical Sciences (Ph.D.). Currently a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Geography, Nizhnevartovsk State University. Author of more than 50 scientific works, including monographs and teaching aids. Member of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists at Nizhnevartovsk State University. In 2016 - Advisor to the Academy of Natural Sciences (by the Decision of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences). Holder of medals named after. V. I. Vernadsky for the “successful development of national science" and "for the innovative work in the field of higher education". Lecturer in the fields of geo-ecological mapping, geo-information systems and land information systems, earth sciences, life safety, environmental security. Participant in scientific and practical conferences, scientific and methodological seminars and open lectures at various levels. Participant of the European Union Erasmus+ programme, the Jean Monnet module.
