Jury picks winners of “Business Breakthrough” competition within international training seminar “Business Academy”

On the 17th of November NVSU held a competition of student business ideas “Business breakthrough”. The competition concluded a week long international training seminar on entrepreneurial skills development “Business Academy”. About 90 students of NVSU participated in the training seminar. Students worked in groups where they worked on their business projects:



Team A - "Graphic design school"

Team B - "Safancy"

Team C - "ESMA"

Team D - "Eco Pulp Mill"

Team E - "EcoCups"

Team F - "GreenPigs"

Team G - "FresherMat"

Team H - "International House"


            In the end 8 teams presented their business projects that they have been developing during the week under supervision of Finnish experts, Juha Saukkonen and Matti Hirsilä, to the jury panel.




The jury had to select best ideas and projects in three nominations:

«Best Business Idea»: innovative ideas that can be used to build a new company or develop a new direction in exciting company;

 «Best Business Project»: structured business plan with expected outcomes;

«Best Initiative for NVSU»: entrepreneurial projects that would help NVSU to reach its goals.


            The following teams took the winning places:

- “Best Business Idea” nomination - team «Safancy». The team developed a watch with GPS and sensors that detect its owners anxiety and fear level. This watch will help detect dangerous situations and alarm chosen contacts.


- “Best Business Idea” nomination - team «FresherMat». The team developed a system where plants can be grown without soil in artificial conditions with use of hydroponics in Nizhnevartovsk region.  


- “Best Initiative for NVSU” nomination – team "Graphic design school". They designed a socially and culturally important project. The project entails creation of educational platform  for students and schoolchildren to develop their creative potential and advance graphic design in Nizhnevartovsk.


Representatives of JAMK University of Applied Sciences (Jyväskylä, Finland) established a nomination “Potential for International Cooperation”. The prize went to tean “International House”. The project entails creating a full-board institution where students can live and learn foreign languages without having to leave the country.


Nizhnevartovsk branch of Yugra entrepreneurship support fund, represented by its director, Chernukhina Anna, also gave a special prize to one of the teams, “Eco Pulp Mill”.


           All of the participants of the international training seminar on entrepreneurial skills development “Business Academy” were awarded with participation certificates. Winning projects were awarded prizes.
