On June 14, 2016, Nizhnevartovsk State University signed a cooperation agreement with Liepaja University (Latvia). The parties consolidated their intention to develop cooperation through joint activities and international projects. Special attention is to be given to student and teacher mobility between the universities. In particular, the parties plan to jointly apply for Erasmus + program (Key Action 1: Learning Mobility of Individuals).

Note: short-term mobility, or Credit Mobility, is student, teacher and staff mobility carried out within bilateral agreements on mobility between universities in the countries participating in the mobility program and universities in partner countries. Mobility participants receive a scholarship covering transportation, visa, insurance and accommodation costs.

In April 2017, members of Liepaja University will make an official visit to NVSU. Thus, NVSU has successfully expanded the geographic reach for cooperation with European universities.
