“Study in Europe: Denmark and Finland”. Information workshop at NVSU

On May 19, 2016, NVSU held an information workshop on studying in Europe, this time devoted to Denmark and Finland. The workshop was attended by the members of JAMK University of Applied Sciences (Jyvӓskylӓ, Finland) and University College South Denmark (Aabenraa, Denmark). The workshop was a part of the series of workshops devoted to European education and also the final event of international seminar “Building capacities of international units and departments" within the project "Bridging the cooperation gap:  Nordic-Russian Network for International Relations in Higher Education”.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The visiting guests included the representatives of JAMK University of Applied Sciences, namely, Nina Bjӧrn, International Relations Manager, and Matti Hirsilӓ, Head of Department of Global Business Management, as well as members of the University College South Denmark - Jacob Buris Andersen, Head of Studies, Mette Ernlund, Head of International Office, Martin Brunsgaard, International Coordinator, Lars Søndergaard, Head of Teacher Education, and Merete Smith – Sivertsen, Lecturer.

    

 

 

 

 

 

Taking the opportunity, the workshop participants were willing to learn about student life in Denmark and Finland and academic mobility programs for foreign students offered by these two European educational institutions.

Staff members of NVSU International office introduced the audience to the current scholarship programs in Denmark and Finland, and the Danish and Finish system of higher education.

Joining the additional session called “I am an International Student”, Andrey Andrianov, a student of the Faculty of Information Technology and Mathematics, shared his experience of participating in the academic mobility program at JAMK University Applied Sciences. Other NVSU students of the Faculty of Humanities, Maria Kalashnikova and Regina Sagdatdinova, told the audience about taking part in the academic mobility programs Erasmus+ at University College South Denmark. Karen Hansen and Christina Hansen, first EU students from the University College South Denmark to join a practical training program at NVSU, shared their impressions about studying at NVSU and taking a practical training at Nizhnevartovsk schools and kindergartens.
