"Study in Europe: Belgium". Information workshop in NVSU

On January 20, 2016, NVSU held an information workshop on studying in Europe, this time devoted to Belgium. The seminar was attended by the members of Artesis Plantjin University College (Antwerp, Belgium). The seminar was a part of the series of workshops devoted to European education.

The seminar started with a welcome speech from Denis Pogonyshev, Vice-Rector for Licensing and Accreditation, who spoke on the development of academic mobility as one of the priorities of the universitys international activities. Student mobility promotes cultural and academic exchanges and cooperation, increases personal capital and helps acquiring new skills for successful career and social life after graduation.

The workshop was attended by the members of Artesis Plantjin University College, namely Peter Partoens, Coordinator in Research and Internationalization, Hilde Hoefnagels, International Coordinator, and Inge Verhaegen, International Coordinator. The Belgian guests made a presentation on Artesis Plantijn Univeristy College and held a quiz What do you know about Belgium? for workshop participants who were eager to answer all the questions about Belgian culture, history, traditions and customs.

Taking the opportunity, the participants were willing to learn about student life in Belgium and Artesis Plantjin University College and academic mobility programs for foreign students offered by the college.

Staff members of NVSU International office introduced the audience to the current scholarship programs in Belgium, Belgian system of higher education, as well as visa procedures for those how wish to study in Belgium.

As part of an additional session called I am an International Student, Anton Tsys, a 3rd year student of the Faculty of Information Technology and Mathematics, shared his experience of participating in the academic mobility program within Tempus project "Evaluation of Quality of Cooperation in Education Ecosystem as a Mechanism for Building Professional Competencies - E3M". In December 2014, the student joined a delegation of NVSU members in a study visit to Artesis Plantjin University College.

At the end of the workshop every participant received a certificate.
