“Study in Spain” Workshop in NVSU

On May 14, within a series of seminars devoted to studying in Europe NVSU held an introductory “Study in Spain” workshop involving the University of Barcelona.

The workshop opened with a welcome speech by Denis Pogonyshev, Vice-Rector for Licensing and Accreditation, emphasizing the development of academic mobility as a priority trend in the international activities of NVSU and one of the most effective ways of improving the quality of education.

This seminar was attended by an honorary guest, Professor Mar Ruiz-Zorrilla, coordinator of international programs of the University of Barcelona, who introduced students and  teachers to the academic mobility programs offered by Barcelona University, in particular, to the International Summer School at UdB.

Taking the opportunity, students were eager to know about student life in the University of Barcelona and assistance provided to the Spanish students during the learning process. They were also interested to find out how popular the University of Barcelona is for Russian students participating in bilateral students exchange programs.

Nadezhda Nemchinova, Head of International Office, spoke on the system of higher education in Spain.

During the workshop, staff members of NVSU International Office introduced the information on relevant academic mobility programs implemented by NVSU jointly with the Spanish partners, such as the University of Barcelona (Barcelona) and Mester Academy (Salamanca). 

Staff members of NVSU International office also made presentations on scholarship programs and summer schools programs in Spain, delivered their recommendations on how to write a motivation letter when applying to study at a foreign university, as well as on the procedures for receiving a Spanish visa.

  

Svetlana Zykova, Assistant Professor at the Department of Linguistics and Translation, spoke in detail about studying for, preparing for and taking an international DELE examination assessing the knowledge of Spanish as foreign language.

As part of an additional session called “I am an International Student”, Regina Sagdatdinova, a 3rd year student of the Faculty of Humanities, shared her experience of participating in summer language schools and studying at the Mester Academy (Salamanca, Spain).

At the end of the workshop every participant received a certificate.
