The University Library was founded in 1988. It is one of the largest libraries in Yugra, with a collection numbering 250,000 books, and with an average 10,000 visitors reading 500,000 books per year.
The main goal of the Library is to provide excellent service to students and university staff that will advance each user’s learning, teaching, and research experience at the University. The mission of our Library is to inform the university and wider community of learners through educational resources, technologies and expertise and to connect people with our resources and services.
The Library successfully combines traditional and innovative information technologies. In addition to the traditional catalogue and card system of source search, both local and remote electronic information resources are available, which allows the library to provide more efficient, complete and prompt services.
Current holdings within the library at NVSU include over 250, 000 volumes of teaching and study materials, literature for science and methodology, as well as periodicals relating to specific fields of education, scholar works of the university teaching staff, as well as fiction books, national and foreign magazines and newspaper editions.
Services are available to university students, faculty and staff, as well as individual citizens, businesses, professional firms, and public agencies. The Library has a department allowing special hold on books in the libraries of Yekaterinburg, Tyumen, Novosibirsk, Moscow, St. Petersburg and other cities of Russia, as well as providing delivery of electronic documents and files. The readers interested in research are provided with access to the scientific Russian database of theses and dissertations (of the Russian State Library) and other databases.
