120 credits, including all classroom and independent student work, time for working on term papers and master’s thesis, time for teaching practice and research, and time for checking student progress

Eligibility requirements

  • State diploma of higher professional education (bachelor’s or specialist’s degree)
  • Successful results at the entrance test in Russian language

Occupational areas for program graduates

  • Research field - studying modern Russian language and historical development of Russian language
  • Practical field - practices associated with the use of knowledge and skills in the field of language education in institutions of education, culture, administration, media, intercultural communication and other areas of social and humanitarian activities.

Master of Pedagogical Education (Language Education) is trained for activities requiring in-depth fundamental and professional knowledge and skills, including scientific and research work.

Occupational activities for program graduates

1. Teaching:

  • Studying the opportunities, needs and achievements of students of educational institutions, various specialized educational institutions, primary professional, secondary and higher professional educational institutions and designing individual training and development plans for students based of the study results
  • Organizing pedagogical training and education with the use of techniques corresponding to the appropriate age and gender peculiarities and reflecting specific areas of expertise
  • Liaising with colleagues, parents, social partners, including foreign partners, searching for new social partners, including interaction with social partners of students
  • Using educational facilities and developing new media, including information conditions, to ensure the quality of education
  • Ensuring professional self-realization and growth, developing future educational plan and professional career

2. Research:

  • Analyzing, systematizing and generalizing research results in the field of education and solving specific research problems through a set of research methods
  • Developing, organizing, implementing and evaluating the research results in the field of education with the use of modern scientific methods, information and innovative technologies
  • Liaising with colleagues, parents, social partners, including foreign partners, in addressing urgent research tasks
  • Using educational facilities and developing new conditions, including information conditions, for scientific and research purposes
  • Ensuring professional self-realization and growth, developing future educational plan and professional career, participating in experimental work

3. Management:

  • Studying the control system’s state and potential and its macro and microenvironment by using complex methods of strategic and operational analysis
  • Researching, developing, organizing and evaluating management process with the use of innovative management techniques, appropriate general and specific patterns of developing the controlled system
  • Liaising with colleagues and social partners, including foreign partners, and searching for new social partners to address topical administrative issues
  • Using the controlled system media and developing ways to enrich and improve the system

4. Design and development:

  • Developing learning environments which ensure the quality of educational process
  • Designing educational programs and individual educational plans
  • Developing new disciplines and elective courses for specialized training of students, designing monitoring and testing methods and various test materials

5. Methodological activities:

  • Studying and analyzing professional and educational needs and capabilities of teachers and designing individual methodical support plans
  • Researching, designing, organizing and evaluating methodological support for teachers with the use of innovative technologies
  • Liaising with colleagues and social partners, including foreign partners, and searching for new social partners to address topical scientific and methodological issues
  • Using the existing educational opportunities and social environment and developing new media, including information conditions, to ensure methodological support for teachers

6. Cultural and educational activities:

  • Studying and developing cultural needs and improving cultural and educational level of different population groups, developing teaching strategies
  • Designing and using educational programs in order to promote scientific knowledge and cultural traditions
  • Using modern information and communication technologies and media solutions to address cultural and educational objectives
  • Developing artistic and cultural environment meeting cultural needs and providing for artistic and cultural development of particular population groups

Specific professional activities are determined by the higher educational institution in cooperation with students, research and teaching staff and employers' associations.
